What makes a good investment?
A good investment is defined by its relevance to the investor's goals, its potential for success, and the level of risk attached to it.
As a young professional, you can afford to have a higher tolerance for risk, knowing that you have a long career ahead of you to earn back losses and to make other successful investments. As a retiree, making low-risk, stable investments that give low-medium but reliable returns may be more prudent.
Our advice is to consult an experienced wealth management specialist to help you discern which investments would best meet your goals.
Should I invest in my super or not?
You should invest in your super only if you want to access your returns after retirement. Your returns can only be accessed after that point and may even be tax-free.
If you are looking to build wealth before retirement, placing your investment capital in your super may not suit you.
Your best option is to seek guidance from your wealth manager, who can help you decide how to generate the capital you need for investment.
Is it reasonable to borrow capital for investing?
Borrowing is a common practice for raising investment capital. It does come with risks, but those risks can be mitigated with proper preparation.
